A programme of music and entertainment, hosted by BBC Radio Gloucestershire's Jon Smith, including The Salvation Army Band and Gloucester Dementia choir.  

This will culminate in the light switch-on at 5.35pm.  

In the square you will also be able to take part in ‘Doves of Peace’. Funded by Together Gloucester, this free drop-in workshop led by local artist Russell Haines, encourages everyone to share a simple message of peace that will become part of a hanging artwork, displayed in the city centre in the New Year.
