About

Celebrating Chinese Culture and Community in Gloucester

On 21st September, Gloucester's Chinese community will celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and share its culture with the wider public.
Since the first Chinese families arrived in 1978, the community has grown from around 150 people to nearly 3,000 across Gloucestershire. From early beginnings in restaurants and takeaways, later generations now contribute across many professions, from healthcare to law and engineering.
This event is both a celebration of those achievements and a chance to honour the support of other communities. By sharing traditions and heritage, the Chinese community looks forward to building unity and a flourishing future together.
