Tessy Tumblepot's Potion Trail

This Halloween, help Tessy Tumblepot, the Museum of Gloucester's most muddled witch, brew her magical potion! She's lost all her spooky ingredients somewhere in the museum and needs clever young explorers to help track them down. Follow the trail, solve the clues, and uncover creepy, crawly, and curious items hidden among the exhibits. Once you've found them all, you'll discover the spell Tessy's been cooking up & get a prize at the end!
Time Traveller Scarecrows

This October half term, Painswick Rococo Garden will be alive with time-travel magic! The much-loved Great Scarecrow Hunt is back – and this year's scarecrows come from the past and the future! The Garden will be filled with colourful Time Traveller Scarecrows from across the ages (and beyond!).
Autumn Threads

Head down to the National Waterways Museum in the Gloucester Docks to discover the spookier side of canal crafts. Meet the stitching spiders and follow them around the museum to discover spider web stitching, quilting, traditional clothes and much more! Character Tour of the Folk

Explore the historic listed buildings with one of their costumed guides representing a real historical figure connected to The Folk of Gloucester. Delve into the rich and diverse history of these unique buildings. Hear shocking tales of characters like Bishop Hooper, who burned at the stake in 1555. Learn about the people who lived here during the Siege of Gloucester in 1643, listen to the gossip from a servant maid, or meet an Edwardian undertaker.

Siege of Gloucester Civil War Tour

Join local guide Jon Eeles for a Siege of Gloucester Civil War Tour starting at the Museum of Gloucester. Come along for 10.30 and grab a coffee in the café whilst Jon takes you through the reasons for the siege, why Gloucester chose Parliament over the King and learn more about the forces in and outside our walls. Handle genuine cannon balls and musket balls from the time, along with other items found on the battle sites around the city!

Comunity in Nature Lantern Making

The Magpie Arc

The Magpie Arc is a cross-border band from Sheffield, Edinburgh and Arran and features award-winning musicians Nancy Kerr, Findlay Napier, Tom Wright, Alex Hunter and tour guitarist, BBC Folk Award-winning Sam Carter. Formed to blend their songwriting and musicianship into a fresh take on the British folk rock sound of the '60s and '70s, the band quickly gained recognition for its unique mix of folk, rock, country, and prog-rock elements. Performing at Gloucester Guildhall on the 30 October.

Soup Theatre - Dark Tales of Gloucestershire

A fundraiser event aboard Tall Ship, the Kathleen & May, lying in Gloucester Docks. Performances start at noon on each day and will be a traditional mix of shanties, folk music and songs of the sea - all the while raising vital funds for the Kathleen & May. Enjoy lively melodies that celebrate maritime history and the joy of community spirit. Gangplank opens from 11.30 am.
