An old fashioned woodcut etching of a sea serpent swimming in the water with a sailing ship in the background

About

Come along for a bowl of soup and a show at lunchtime!

Hanged men, witches, sea serpents and drunken fairies can all be found in Spaniel In The Works Theatre Company's popular show, Dark Tales of Gloucestershire. The show takes traditional folk tales from the county and retells them in a lively, funny and exciting way using rhyme, music, dance and puppets. From the Royal intrigue of the Bisley boy to the sad tale of the ghost pub of Dursley and the strange Sea Serpent of Coombe Hill, Dark Tales of Gloucestershire is an ideal fun entertainment for family audiences.

"Extremely funny.....The company are masters of their art".
Stroud News and Journal

"Top class entertainment."
The Citizen

"The energetic cast excelled in a multitude of quick-change roles in this pared-down, rustic vibe production, from witches, criminals, milk-maids... a terrific light hearted night out in the hands of the sparky company." -
Gloucestershire Live

Each £10 ticket includes a bowl of delicious home-cooked soup, and the show is designed to fit into an hour-long lunch break. Performances are suitable for ages 11 and above.
