About

HOW TO BUILD THE CITY

A live performance experience from state of the [art], based on the epic of Gilgamesh – part theatre, part game and part night out.

Saturday 12 September // 6:45pm // The Music Works Hub // Pay-what-you-can

The city is the game. Play your part.

How to Build the City is a unique performance experience about the rules, pressures and relationships that shape how we live together.

Across the evening, audiences will move through a series of performances, games, challenges and unexpected encounters. They might follow a story, make a decision, join a team, help complete a task or simply watch what happens.

There are different ways to experience the evening, whether you come ready to play or would rather stay on the sidelines.

Inspired by The Epic of Gilgamesh and the everyday experience of city life, the performance asks who gets to shape the places we live, what we owe each other and how we build something together.
