About
Gloucester Rugby can consider itself to be a unique English Rugby Club. The Cherry and Whites play at Kingsholm Stadium, situated near the heart of the city, where they compete in top flight fixtures including Aviva Premiership and European Cup action. The Club was also proud to be a host stadium for the Rugby World Cup 2015.
Founded in 1873 and, with its Kingsholm Stadium home situated near the heart of the city, the club enjoys an enviably close relationship with its supporters. Gloucester is a true rugby city, where people proudly walk the streets wearing the famous Cherry and White hoops.
Gloucester has played all of its rugby in the top flight of English club rugby and a recent heritage grant has allowed the club to showcase their rich history along the walls of the stadium.
As well as boasting such a fantastic history the club has also enjoyed considerable recent success, winning the Anglo-Welsh Cup in 2011 and beating Edinburgh Rugby 19-13 in an exciting final match to lift the European Challenge cup in 2015.
Gloucester Rugby plays its home fixtures at Kingsholm, a stone's throw away from the city centre. The stadium as two LED video screens to show live footage and action replays from the game in progress.
Although Kingsholm is a magnificent rugby venue, capable of holding over 16,000 supporters and a regular venue for representative rugby, it offers much more besides.
We cater for social events such as work parties, end of year balls and even weddings, as we have a civil wedding licence.
As well as being the home of Gloucester Rugby, Kingsholm is a unique conference venue with a range of different sized conference, meeting and training rooms.
