Adopt an Artist 2025

Until 30 June

Throughout May and June 2025, Gloucester Contemporary Artists will be working with local businesses in Gloucester to display original contemporary artworks in 30 businesses throughout the city in order to make contemporary art accessible to the people of Gloucester and those visiting the city.


Orchard St Food & Craft Market

03 - 04 May

The Orchard St Food & Craft market is back at Gloucdester Quays on the first weekend of this month. Come along, enjoy great food and drink, soak up the atmosphere of market day and meet our friendly, dedicated, and enthusiastic producers.


VE Day 80 Celebration

03 - 05 May

The Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum are celebrating the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Children and families will love exploring the museum galleries with their tribute to VE Day!


Open Day at Llanthony

04 May

Head down to Llanthony Secunda Priory for their open day! Step inside the beautifully restored medieval buildings, explore the landscaped grounds, and learn about Llanthony's fascinating past!


Shlomo's Beatbox Adventure for Kids

04 May

Join world record-breaking beatboxer SK Shlomo (they/them) who makes amazing music with just a mouth and a mic, and has performed around the world with legends like Bjork, Ed Sheeran and Rudimental. Heading to Gloucester Guildhall on the 04 May!


Guildhall Comedy Club

06 May

Guildhall Comedy Club brings the finest new touring comedians to Gloucester with local comedian Nik Hill as your MC. Hosted in the Guildhall Cinema, this intimate version of our comedy club offers the perfect atmosphere for a good weeknight laugh. Alongside Nik, May's edition includes Lou Conran and Eddy Brimson!


Eco Market at Roots Coffee and Community

10 May

The Eco Market are back at Roots Coffee and Community in Kingsholm. Join them upstairs in the community hall for and browse from a selection of sustainable businesses. Each stallholder has been carefully selected to fit their eco friendly, plastic free brief!


VE Day Celebration Tea Dance

10 May

Get ready to step back in time and celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day in true vintage style! On Saturday 10 May, Kings Square in Gloucester will be alive with music, dancing, and community spirit. From 1pm to 4pm, visitors can enjoy a fabulous Tea Dance, completely free of charge.


Wonderland Spring Faery Events

10 - 11 May

The Spring Faery Fayre is back at Blackfriars Priory on the 10 - 11 May. Come along dressed as your favourite theme Faery or Alice in Wonderland Character anything goes from flower faery, steampunk faery, wherever your imagination takes you.

On the 10 May, the Wonderland Faery Parade and the Wonderland Faery Ball will also be taking place!


Eurovision Quiz

11 May

Head down to Hop Kettle at Gloucester Food Dock on the 11 May for their Eurovision Quiz!  A whole quiz night dedicated to the annual celebration of key changes, wind machines and spandex. The winning team gets a massive £100 cash prize! Plus, there are loads of bonus prizes up for grabs, including a £30 bar tab for 2nd place and £10 for the team that comes in third!


RAF V Army

17 May

Kingsholm Stadium is set to host another thrilling chapter of inter-service rugby as the RAF takes on the Army in a highly anticipated double-header on Saturday 17 May 2025. RAF Women v Army Women will kick off at 11am followed by the mens fixture at 3.15pm.

Ukrainian Festival

17 - 18 May

After a highly successful debut last year, The Folk of Gloucester are bringing back this celebration of Ukrainian culture together with the local Ukrainian community. Featuring traditional music, dance, food and craft workshops, there's something to interest everyone. Most events are free with donations welcomed, and profits from paid events will go towards the Ukrainian Society!


Lil Miss Lady

31 May

HighRise Entertainment presents a journey into the history of Grime with a multimedia, genre-smashing, interactive-rave-experience starring MC Lady Lykez at Gloucester Guildhall. Part rave, part drama – LIL.MISS.LADY (Lady Lykez) explores the history of Grime through the eyes of a vigorous female MC. From the early stages of Jungle, ravers will take an immersive journey through the sounds and visuals of UK bass music culture, reminiscing through UK Garage, Sub-Low, Funky House, Dubstep and Grime; finding out what it means to be a female navigating her way through such a male dominated industry.
