About
Throughout May and June 2025, Gloucester Contemporary Artists will be working with local businesses in Gloucester to display original contemporary artworks in 30 businesses throughout the city in order to make contemporary art accessible to the people of Gloucester and those visiting the city.
An online trail map identifying the artworks and businesses will be freely available at www.gloucestercontemporaryartists.art/art-trail-2025.
Adopt an Artist is a free open art competition whereby those who enjoy creating can tour the trail, select an artist's work that inspires them, and create their own work based on the work they have chosen. Shortlisted works will be framed and exhibited alongside the works that inspired them in Cathedral Quarter Gallery in Westgate Street 21st -28th June. A prize giving event will be held on Sunday 22nd June at the gallery where three winners will be selected.
Prizes and entry details are available online at www.gloucestercontemporaryartists.art/art-trail-2025 and will be posted in each business window alongside the artworks.
The competition aims to engage schools, community groups and the people of Gloucester to be creative and inspired by contemporary art.
