Join us at the National Waterways Museum for a rag-rugging workshop with heritage crafter Jacqui Reeves.
Introducing the traditional craft of rag rugging. Have fun upcycling old t shirts & discarded fabrics into useful objects and colourful works of art.
You will learn all the skills to make handcrafted rag rugs, cushions, flowers etc .You will also go home with the piece you have created, and have the opportunity to purchase tools and equipment at a discounted rate.
Rag Rugging has been around for centuries and is used across the world. The textiles are woven and looped into hessian to form rugs, cushion covers and many more things. Come and take part in this fun workshop and learn how you can re-use and recycle fabric and textiles and make your own rug and soft furnishings.
All equipment will be supplied, and workshop participants can enjoy 10% off in the cafe.
Workshop runs 10.30 to 1.00pm.
