King's Bastion

About

Two metres below the ground, The King's Bastion contains the remains of a section of the Roman city wall with a defensive tower, probably constructed during the reign of Henry III, and is located under a trapdoor in the King's Walk Shopping Centre, right under shoppers feet!

This rarely seen gem is a sight to behold having been closed for a number of years and we are delighted to offer these regular tours again this year, including a special opening for Heritage Open Days (HODs)!
