About

It's New Year's Eve 1967 in Wythenshawe, Manchester. Barry has invited Susan, his first proper girlfriend, to his parents' annual New Year's Eve 'do' when his assorted relatives traditionally gather to celebrate.

In this new version of Bill Cronshaw's original play, two actor raconteurs bring eight characters to life to tell the story of a New Year party like no other!

Underpinned by musical hits of the era, 'Dancing with Auntie' tells seventeen-year-old Barry's hilarious, occasionally poignant, coming of age tale as he discovers not only the power of 'Old Spice' but also the hitherto undisclosed secrets rattling in his family's cupboard!

Dreamshed Theatre are a Gloucestershire based company which was established in 2003 by Bill Cronshaw who is the company's Artistic Director.

This show is part of a weekend-long showcase of local acting and writing talent! Enjoy a varied programme of hour-long plays in our beautiful historic building with cafe and bar.
