About

Join us in celebrating the musical memories and tastes of the people of Gloucester and Gloucestershire!

This special exhibition hosts a wide range of items including T Shirts, records, programmes, tickets and other mementos which show both the broad musical tastes and the individual personal stories of our county. These include a Leonard Cohen T Shirt given to a crew member whilst playing frisbee with Cohen, backstage passes at festivals and other events, items relating to local clubs and bands and historic awards from the 1930s to a prominent Gloucestershire band leader.

There will be items which bring back memories including picture discs and clothing from the 70s and 80s, as well as a wide range of tour T shirts. The largest item is a Lambretta scooter which has been lent by a Westgate Street resident to enhance a display about Mods and the Who's album Quadrophenia!

The exhibition is free to attend during normal Folk of Gloucester opening hours and is located on the top floor of the building. The room is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible, but videos of the exhibition will be displayed downstairs.
