The city of Gloucester is pleased to announce the launch of the Discover Archaeology Trail, a vibrant public heritage initiative running from today until Saturday 20 September 2025. This interactive trail invites residents and visitors alike to explore 15 curated locations throughout the city centre, where specially designed stickers mark significant archaeological finds from past digs.

At each trail location, participants will find a distinctive sticker featuring an image of an artefact—items such as Roman ceramics, ornate gaming pieces, or fragments of Saxon textiles—all meticulously unearthed in nearby excavations. Each sticker includes a QR code that, when scanned, provides detailed information about the artefact's history, context, and archaeological significance.
