February brings the return of the Gloucester Folk Trail, theatrical productions, and a chance to fall in love with the city!

Love Gloucester

Free Sashiko and Boro Embroidery Workshop
04, 11, 18 & 25 Feb, The Folk of Gloucester
Join The Folk of Gloucester for an introduction to Sashiko and Boro: Japanese hand stitching techniques for mending and decorative uses. Based upon a simple running stitch, you will create a decorative collage from scrap materials. Make a palm thimble and a Sashiko pouch whilst learning a variety of mending and embellishing techniques for customising garments and recycling old denim.
Meet Fred - Strike A Light

From traditional tunes to hands-on workshops and lively ceilidhs, the Gloucester Folk Trail offers something for everyone — whether you love singing, dancing, making, listening, or simply soaking up the atmosphere. Across the weekend, the city will come alive with live performances in local venues, creative folk craft sessions, and a vibrant celebration of culture and creativity.
Hands-On History: Object Handling with the Birdlip Mirror
15 & 18 Feb, Museum of Gloucester
Step into the past and experience history up close. Explore the Birdlip Mirror replicas for yourself and enjoy a friendly chat with the Museum’s Visitor Experience Assistant, who's on hand to share stories and answer your questions.
SIX: Teen Edition
19 – 21 Feb, The Kings Theatre
Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the mic to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st-century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over. SIX: TEEN EDITION is a full-length adaptation of Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss' international phenomenon SIX, modified for performance by teen actors for family audiences.
Ghosts and Giggles - Ghost Hunt

Join Becki of Ghosts & Giggles and her team for a ghost investigation into the 500-year-old historic buildings on Westgate Street. You’ll explore this local legend and its history, including previous owners who refuse to move on, and discover their stories and their attachments to the buildings. Great for novices and pro ghost hunters alike, Becki and her team will be on hand to guide you along the way, exploring the building and even taking in St Nicholas Church
The Littlest Yak
22 Feb, Gloucester Guildhall
This musical adaptation of the award-winning children's book will delight audiences young and old with beautiful puppets, catchy tunes and an uplifting tale of self-acceptance for all the family. Gertie is great at being The Littlest Yak, with the CURLIEST, WHIRLIEST wool and the GRIPPIEST of hooves for clip-clopping up cliffs. Only, Gertie doesn't want to be the littlest. She's in a rush to grow up and be just like THE BIG YAKS. But what if there are some things that only a GERTIE can do?
