Nothing says Christmas like Gloucester Cathedral, and there’s something on offer for everyone over the festive period.


Marvel At Beautiful Decorations

From Saturday 9 December, Gloucester Cathedral will be adorned with glorious festive decorations. Make sure you bring your family and friends and go and experience the magical spectical.

There is even the opportunity to experience the beautiful Cathedral all dressed up for Christmas at night! With multiple dates from the 9 December, the Cathedral will be open after hours for you to enjoy. The Monks Kitchen will also be open, serving festive food & drink. 


Listen To Glorious Carols

On Saturday 9 December, there will be Carols on the Hour. The Cathedral musicians and friends will be performing bite-sized bursts of festive praise, on the hour, every hour. 

The Junior Choir will be peforming a selection of well known Christmas Carols on Sunday 17 December and there will be Cathedral Choir Services on the 22 and 23 December. The service on the 22 will also be livestreamed!


Festive Family Fun

From Saturday 9 december, you can take part in the Christ-Mouse Family Trail! Join the Cathedral mice as they tell the story of the very first Christmas, on this brand new family trail. Find where they are hiding, and collect your prize once you've found them all! The trail is free to take part!

On Saturday 16 December, you can join the Christmas Crafts & Carols Activity Day. Head down to the Chapter House for a fun-filled day of Victorian inspired arts and crafts, learning more about the Christmas Story as you do so.


Attend A Service

The Cathedral will welcome you to a range of services throughout the festive period including the most popular Family Crib Services - expect beautiful music, traditional readings and plenty of festive cheer! You are also welcome to attend Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve to mark the start of Christmas Day, held in the beautifully decorated Nave of the Cathedral.
