The venue reopened with a hip hop music event called Open Art Surgery, a hip-hop dance and music show by Your Next Move and Breakin’ Convention.

Sunday, October 2 saw the venue host hard rock band, Inglorious and the Guildhall’s refurbished cinema reopened on Wednesday, October 5.

Gloucester Guildhall offers a variety of live entertainment such as music, comedy, theatre, dance, and contemporary film as well as participatory workshops and art exhibitions, and sees over 50,000 people passing through the doors annually.
The grade II listed arts venue was awarded £230,702 by the Arts Council, which allowed for a revamp to help the Guildhall enhance its live and digital performances.

The venue closed back in July for renovation works including creating a new dance rehearsal space with a sprung floor. Super-fast broadband has been installed throughout including all meeting and conference spaces while the building’s mosaic hallway has also been exposed back to its former glory. Improvements to the lighting and audio equipment will continue over the next month.

The bar and kitchen refurbishments are still currently under construction, so the team is using the front café bar until the works are complete.
