About
Pysanky are traditional Ukrainian Easter Eggs decorated using the wax resist method, whereby the shell is covered with wax patterns and then dipped in coloured dye. They represent rebirth and resurrection, with the cross symbol holding particular significance. Traditionally, thirteen eggs would be made: one for Christ and for each of the disciples.
The workshop is suitable for beginners with all materials provided. Tickets are £15 for general admission and £10 for all concessions. Proceeds go towards the Ukrainian workshop leaders and the maintenance of our historic building.
