An Organ Recital of Elgar's Organ Sonata in G Major, with our Director of Music, Adrian Partington.

Join us on Wednesday 23 September at 6.30pm for an unforgettable evening of soaring sound and musical excellence, enjoying magnificent organ acoustics as it's played by our Director of Music, Adrian Partington.

The evening showcases the feature piece, Elgar's monumental Organ Sonata in G major - a thrilling masterpiece of rich romanticism and heroic flair - alongside a vibrant selection of works written by Gloucester Cathedral's own musicians.

Guests will enjoy a unique talk before the music from Adrian himself.

About Director of Music, Adrian Partington

Adrian Partington has enjoyed a distinguished career as a pianist, organist and conductor, serving as Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral since 2007.

Educated at the Royal College of Music and King's College, Cambridge, he has led six Gloucester Three Choirs Festivals and served as Artistic Director of the BBC National Chorus of Wales since 1999.

His conducting career spans major works with world-class ensembles including the Philharmonia, the Royal Philharmonic, and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

As an international organ soloist, he has recorded twelve solo CDs, performed repeatedly at the BBC Proms, and appeared with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic.
