Celebrate St Nicks

About

As part of the Church Conservation Trust's Celebrate CCT week, we will be opening the doors to one of the most iconic churches in Gloucester.
Famous for its leaning tower, which many consider to be Gloucester's version of the leaning tower of Pisa. We will be shining a light on the fantastic history and beauty within.
As well as ringing the 300-year-old Rudhall bells, which were made in this very city, we will also be celebrating the congregations throughout the centuries with the We are Gathered here exhibition, which is a partnership between Gloucester Family History Society in association with Gloucestershire College, Gloucester Civic Trust and CCT, funded by Voices Gloucester and Historic England.
This exhibition, through the use of cutouts painted by students from Gloucestershire College, brings to life the stories of the people who came to the church and the lives they lived.
There will also be the opportunity for children to create their own Stained Glass to celebrate this fantastic building.
To celebrate the incredible acoustics in the church, we are delighted that several community choir groups like Cadenza, Heart of Gloucester and the Soundabout Choir will be coming along to fill the church with music and Bygonez, who play musical instruments from the time the church was being built, will be giving a glimpse of life back at the time of the church's inception.
With so much going on, it's worth a visit on Saturday 13th of June 2026, from 10 am onwards.
