According to the dictionary, a father is the male parent of a child or animal, or a person who acts like a father to a child. Many of us are fortunate enough to have such figures in our lives, and Sunday 15 June is the day we celebrate this in the UK.
There are a variety of ways we can celebrate our fathers. We can purchase them special gifts, take them to see their favourite band or sports team, cook them lunch or take them out for a meal, give them a day with their feet up, or simply make or buy a card that tells them how awesome they are.
Here are a few ideas for things to do in Gloucester either on the day, or gift a ticket:

Archaeology of Gloucester Docks Talk
When the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal was built it cut through Gloucester's history, particularly the site of Llanthony Secunda Priory. Over the last 200 years the docks themselves have changed and each decade has left reminders of the basin, buildings and railways of the docks.
This talk with local historian Tony Conder looks at the physical and photographic record of change of the canal and dock.
