Organ Meditation - Four Ikons of the Archangels

About

Unwind with an evening of inspiring music, experiencing the magnificence of our new Cathedral organ.

Experience the power, beauty and versatility of Gloucester Cathedral's magnificent new organ during this Organ Meditation; an inspiring hour of music set within a breathtaking sacred space.

Join us at 6.30pm on Tuesday 29 September for a captivating organ meditation featuring Neil Cox's evocative work, Four Ikons of the Archangels.

Played by Gloucester Cathedral's own Assistant Director of Music, Jonathan Hope, this atmospheric performance journeys through the dramatic profiles of Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, and Uriel.

Whether you are a lifelong lover of sacred music or simply seeking a tranquil sanctuary in the heart of the city, this evening meditation is a wonderful way to finish your day.

Let the rich tones of the Cathedral's new organ wash over you as twilight settles through the nave.

Jonathan Hope is the Assistant Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral, where he serves as principal organist for Cathedral services.

Educated at the Royal College of Music, he is an internationally acclaimed recitalist, improviser, and recording artist who frequently performs with leading orchestras and at major festivals across the UK and abroad.
