About

Each weekend, join fascinating and fun walking tours around Cheltenham.

Choose from: Regency Cheltenham: rewind 200 years to discover what life was like in Regency Cheltenham, the ‘pleasure town’ where the rich came to play.

Health and Wealth: Cheltenham’s medical milestones and dirty habits, from revolutionary vaccinations to recycled teeth

Dances, duels and dalliance: take a walk in the footsteps of Jane Austen and the Duke of Wellington - the Cheltenham of 1816 was a world of drama, luxury and scandal.

How Cheltenham changed our world: some remarkable Cheltonians influenced medicine, sport, aviation, magic, music, bathtime - even science fiction.

Pittville: pumps, plans and pitfalls: Pittville is a tale of triumph and disaster. Learn of bats, boas and banned servants and hear about the lives behind those splendid doors.

All the tours are COVID compliant and we go out of our way to make sure you get all the fun facts, without jargon and heavy history lessons.

Children and well-behaved pets are welcome.

Virtual tours.  If you like the idea of a tour from the comfort of your living room join us for one of our virtual tours, held each Wednesday evening at 7.30pm. Recordings are also available.

About us: Around Cheltenham is run by Steve Roth and Sean Callery. We are qualified Blue Badge guides (the top standard for tourist guides) and will take you on action-packed journeys from Cheltenham’s beginnings as a one street town to Regency playground for the rich and famous.

We also work with Colleagues from the Gloucestershire and Cotswold Tourist Guides Association to offer Saturday walks of Regency Cheltenham.

If you are using Cheltenham as your base, we can also show you the Cotswolds’ nearby attractions.
