About

Managing over 60 nature reserves across the county, our head office is based at Robinswood Hill Country Park in Gloucester, where we also run a café, engagement and learning activities all year round.

Robinswood Hill, owned and managed by Gloucester City Council, is a wonderful green space in the heart of Gloucester for residents and wildlife to enjoy. With a range of habitats, including woodlands and meadows, and walking paths throughout the site.

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust work in partnership with Gloucester City Council at Robinswood Hill to help residents connect with the special heritage of this site. From Spring 2021 we will be launching a range of self-guided activities, a packed events and activities programme and providing more opportunities for everyone to explore the Hill.

Our café at Robinswood Hill is open daily from 9:30am to 4pm serving a range of drinks, snacks, lunches, cakes and more, all sourced as locally as possible! Our team are fully barista trained and we serve a full range of teas and coffees to order.

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust also have many other special places to explore outside of Gloucester, across the county, including Greystones Farm in Bourton on the Water and Crickley Hill near Birdlip. Both sites have facilities and a café for visitors to enjoy, plus a range of events and activities running throughout the year. Check out the events page of our website for more detail

Robinswood Hill

Robinswood Hill has been the head office of Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust since 1992. The site is managed by Gloucester City Council, who work closely in partnership with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.

More information on the rich history of Robinswood Hill can be found on Gloucester City Council's website.

Throughout 2019 - 2020 Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust's head office was re-developed to include a new indoor cafe and visitor hub. This opened in September 2020, and a new community engagement project, Return to the Hill, was launched in January 2021. The new visitor hub will have self-guided activities for all ages to pick up and use to explore the Hill.

Take a look at our project launch video and discover what Robinswood Hill has to offer.

An all terrain mobility scooter (Tramper) is now available for hire to explore two waymarked routes on the Hill. This must be booked in advance, please contact us for more information and to book -info@gloucestershirewildlifetrust.co.uk

Currently the tramper is only available Monday - Fridays.

All visitors hiring a Tramper must become a member of Countryside Mobility, if they are not already, to ensure they are covered by insurance and have received an induction on how to safely use a Tramper the first time you hire. Choose either a 2 week (£2.50) or Annual (£10) Membership – this then allows you to use Trampers at over 50 beauty spots around the South West, including a number in Gloucestershire.
