About

Found within the city of Gloucester, this fine Victorian building houses an internationally important collection of treasures of nearly one million objects. We tell the story of the city’s origins as a Roman settlement and its subsequent development through the Dark Ages and Medieval period to the present day.

The Archaeology collection includes the world famous Birdlip mirror, impressive Roman tombstones and the Gloucester Tables Set, alongside a significant collection of artworks.
