Today is the start of National Coffee Week (17 to 23 October) and I don't know about you but we LOVE a café! There is something calming about sitting in the window with a warm drink while watching the day go by, so we have created this list of some of the City's independent hot coffee spots.

Comfy Pew

Situated in the shadow of Gloucester Cathedral, The Comfy Pew is a family-run café. Set in one of Gloucester's many listed Tudor era buildings, they offer a wide selection of food and drink.

The Monk's Kitchen

With a backdrop of the Cathedral's gorgeous interior, The Monk's Kitchen is the perfect stop before, or during your visit to the iconic building. The choice of beverages, cakes, food, and a range of Fair-Trade tea and coffee, makes it a favourite throughout the City.

The Clementine Café

Found on the corner of Westgate Street and College Street, The Clementine is an artisanal café, open seven days a week, serving delicious coffee, homemade cakes, breakfast & lunch.

Grey's Coffee House

At Grey's Coffee House, comfort is key. As part of The New Inn, this coffee house is found in a 600 year old Tudor style building, known for being the host of the announcement of Lady Jane Grey's Succession to the English Throne. A perfect spot for history lovers!

Hetty's Kitchen Café

Just outside of the City Centre, on Morelands Trading Estate, is Hetty's Kitchen Café. Their menu consists of a range of legendary brownies, amazing savoury snacks and delicious cakes handmade on site as well as a lovely range of hot & cold drinks.

Caffè Corretto

With a fantastic view of Gloucester Docks, Caffè Corretto is an authentic recreation of a traditional Italian Café serving coffee, homemade cakes, sandwiches and alcoholic drinks.

Lily's Restaurant & Tea Room

Located in a cosy corner of the City with a view of the Beatrix Potter Shop, they serve fresh, home cooked breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas, and guarantee you a warm and friendly welcome.
