The tree-ring dated buildings of Gloucestershire.

About

Recent projects in Gloucestershire have increased the number of tree-ring-dated buildings in Gloucestershire to over 200. This talk will explain the technique, highlight some of the spectacular accurate dated buildings and show how timber-framed building styles changed with time.

Dr Andy Moir is a well-published dendrochronologist with 35 years of experience, Director of Tree-Ring Services and Chairman of the Gloucestershire Building Recording Group.

Thank you to the Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society for supporting this talk. For further information about BGAS see their website www.bgas.org.uk

This event is part of the Gloucester Festival of Archaeology, which is Gloucester's contribution to the Council for British Archaeology's national Festival of Archaeology.
