Blackfriars Talks Illustration

About

Each year the Blackfriars Talks brings a host of Britain's leading historians to the Gloucester History Festival. From Alice Roberts to Max Hastings, Lucy Worsley to Kate Williams, Olivette Otele to Dan Snow, all have spoken in previous years in the electric atmosphere of the 12th century Blackfriars Priory, one of the oldest and most beautiful examples of a Dominican Priory in England. The most recent Festival – whilst onscreen rather than underneath the Blackfriars beams – was no exception. The 2020 Blackfriars Talks series included many of Britain's top historians who shared their thoughts and insights in a fascinating programme which for the first time reached audiences worldwide. Join us to share some of the highlights and look forward – we hope – to the return of live events at Blackfriars this September.
