Inside Blackfriars Priory

Back by popular demand! Step into the festive season in our very own time-capsule for one weekend only. Pop on your hats and gloves, and head to our second instalment of Gloucester's secret cocktail bar, Scriptorium, here at Blackfriars Priory.

With medieval décor, a festive menu of seasonal cocktails, including an Apple and Cinnamon Martini and a Pomegranate Moscow Mule, and delicious pizzas from Openside Pizza, cooked fresh on the flame to order, Scriptorium's Medieval Cocktail Emporium is a festive event not to be missed.

The Scriptorium at Blackfriars Priory is widely considered to be the oldest standing purpose-built library in Northern Europe and is of international historical importance. Rarely open to the public, this Cocktail Emporium offers an exceptional opportunity to step inside this scheduled monument. Due to the nature of the building, the room will be cold so we encourage you to embrace the unique surroundings, and wrap up warm.

Tables can be booked in groups of 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8. If you are looking for a larger group booking, please contact us directly at or calling 01452 50 30 50.

Tickets - £10.00 per person which includes your first cocktail!

Over 18s Only.

Our last Scriptorium Event was a sell out, so please don't delay to avoid disappointment, and please remember to wear warm clothing.
