About
A festive day out with free activities for all the family. Take part in the glowing lantern parade celebrating the 12 days of Christmas, watch the Tree of Light Ceremony with a little love in Kings Square, or join the singing and hear Gloucester Cathedral Carol Service a ringing.
Love in Kings Square – 1-6pm Saturday afternoon in Kings Square there will be a programme of spectacular street performers sprinkling some magic. With fun for all the family, there will be a programme of music, live artists, a special aerial performance, and some giant bubbles to play with!
Kings Square is filled with Love for the Tree of Light. To unify Gloucester residents and provide hope for our future a spectacular 12m high breathing heart frames an elegant aerial show. Love art is an air-filled fabric structure where fluctuations in the internal air pressure cause the structure to lift an aerialist into the air to perform a show. The fluctuations continue so the heart slowly starts to beat. The construction of an air-filled structure of this size with a moving and lifting capacity is only possible through recent developments in fabric technology and 3D stress test modelling.
Angie's Festive Funky Hooping! With a large stack of hoops, 5 gold rings and some very funky Christmas tunes, Angie is bringing some extra festive cheer! She will wow everyone with her impromptu hula hooping displays before getting a few helpers up to show just how much fun it is. Angie will leave audiences spellbound as she hoops, spins, twists and turns multiple hoops leaving mesmerising trails of light in this high impact show.
Cotswold Children's Parties provide epic entertainment. Expect fun, bubble magic, snow, dancing, foamy bubbles to play with, bubble sculptures and even a bubble so big you can stand inside it!
A living Snow Globe This visual feast is every bit as magical as the snow globes of your childhood memories. This spellbinding human Snow Globe glides gracefully through crowds enchanting all ages. A beautiful, ethereal Snow Queen sits regally inside, encased in her snow blizzard, smiling, and greeting her admirers. This Living Snow Globe contains a beautifully detailed winter wonderland scene, covered in a blanket of snow, waiting to be brought to life by your interaction. Should a brave spectator venture closer and press the big button on the front of the globe, they will be rewarded by immediately transforming her world with a monumental snowstorm with thousands of snowflakes whirling around this spellbinding sphere.
Join the finale to hear RSVP Bhangra, a high-energy, interactive and fun Bhangra music experience that is guaranteed to keep you dancing all night.
