Gloucester and the Battle of Dyrham in AD 577. Should we believe the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle?

About

The record of an important Saxon victory over the cities of Gloucester, Cirencester and Bath at Dyrham in AD 577 has always fascinated scholars and historians. Neil Holbrook of Cotswold Archaeology will explore the current debate over this significant entry in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, and in particular explore what archaeology can add to the picture.
