Gloucester Cathedral’s Season of Silent Film continues with The Hunchback Of Notre Dame (1923) on Saturday 14 September.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923) is a silent film adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel, starring Lon Chaney as the tragic Quasimodo, the bell-ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral, who becomes entangled in a web of love and betrayal with the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda, leading to a dramatic climax atop the cathedral's towers.
Enjoy this silent classic within the magnificent surroundings of the Nave, all accompanied by enchanting live organ music from the Cathedral’s Assistant Director of Music Jonathan Hope.
