About
Dick Whittington’s Gloucester is managed by the award winning cider and perry maker Tom Bull of Severn Cider. This historic pub and events space has a great range of whole juice ciders and perry alongside the best real ales in rotation, craft beers and real lagers.
This is a unique venue that regularly hosts live music. There is a traditional feel to the ground floor and underneath is The Black Cat Basement that is available for private parties, functions and events.
There is a large beer garden nestled behind St Nicholas Church with views to the Cathedral beyond providing a sheltered space to enjoy the great range of refreshments out of doors.
It is full of character and charm dating back to the C13th and is of national significance being Grade I Listed. The building was the family home of the famous Dick Whittington who travelled to London to become four times Lord Mayor of the capital.
Elizabeth I reputedly stayed at Dick Whittington’s in 1574 and the paintings to decorate the house for her visit are still in the accommodation above.
There is limited access to the building as there are steps to the pavement. There is no disabled toilet currently available.
Dick Whittington’s is open regularly with some great drinks offers and regular live music.
